Our commitment
We design, build, and maintain Blink 5 Media with accessibility in mind. We treat accessibility as a baseline product requirement, not a checklist tacked on at launch. We are continuously improving the experience based on feedback and audits.
Standards we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C, the standard most major jurisdictions use as a benchmark for accessible web content.
What we have done
The current site and dashboards include:
- Semantic HTML, headings, lists, landmarks, and form labels are marked up correctly so assistive technology can navigate them.
- Keyboard navigation, every interactive control is reachable and operable with the keyboard. Focus rings are visible on every focusable element.
- Color contrast, text and interactive elements meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for WCAG AA on body text.
- Reduced motion, every motion effect (background paths, marquee, Ken-Burns rotator, FAQ stagger transitions) respects the user's
prefers-reduced-motionsetting and is disabled when that preference is on. - Mobile and zoom, layouts respond down to 320px wide and remain usable when text is zoomed to 200%.
- Form labels and errors, every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and validation messages are announced near the field they describe.
- Image alt text, meaningful images carry alt text; decorative images use an empty alt to be skipped by screen readers.
Known gaps
We are open about where we still have work to do:
- Display rotator: the in-store tablet display (
/display/<store>) has not yet been audited for full WCAG conformance. It is designed as a passive signage surface rather than an interactive one. - Map page: the interactive map on
/storesis rendered with MapLibre. Map controls are keyboard-operable but the alternative tabular list to the right of the map is the primary recommended entry point for users relying on assistive technology. - Live audit cadence: we have not commissioned an external accessibility audit yet. We plan to as the network scales.
Alternative access
If any page is inaccessible to you, we will provide the same information by another channel. Email accessibility@blink5media.com with the URL you were trying to use and what you wanted to do, and we will respond within 5 business days.
Feedback and reports
If you find an accessibility barrier on blink5media.com or any dashboard, please tell us. Reports help us prioritise fixes.
Email accessibility@blink5media.com with the page URL, a description of the issue, the assistive technology you were using (if any), and the browser and operating system. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days.
